About Us

Boxx Berry Farm is unique among the county's berry growers. The family since 1980 has sold its berries and other produce directly to customers from the farm. We also sell wholesale to local retailers such as Haggen and Joe's Garden.

Although sales to supermarkets are a key component of the farm's operation, the family's primary focus is on sales at the farm. Despite its rural location, the farm draws about 200 customers a day -- most from Bellingham and Ferndale -- during the summer to its retail store. About 20 percent of customers pick their own berries.

Berries picked at the farm are supplemented at its store by fruit and vegetables that are obtained in Eastern Washington. The family grows about 10 acres of strawberries, 8 acres of raspberries, 7 acres of blueberries, 20 acres of corn, 2 acres of pumpkins, and about 3 acres of pickling cucumbers. The family also grows potatoes and carrots, walla walla onions, dill, and garlic to compliment the berries.

The farm is owned and operated by Bill and Charlene Boxx and their two sons Mike and Roger Boxx.
